Prepositions

The Beginners Prepositions Program

When a child seeks sensory input by requesting adult’s hugs, wants you to carry him, falls/bumps into walls or drops things constantly; it could mean that he is unaware of his own capabilities for body movements in space in regards to objects around him. This program starts from understanding where his own little body is in space with very simple words. He then will learn how objects relate to him and finally how objects relate to each other.

Following directions and giving directions to others has been one of the funnest activities I’ve watched children do. Imagine a child telling you to get “in” a box and laughing because you do! Words become powerful and meaningful, children want to use these little words over and over extending their sentences when speaking, then improving listening to longer verbal instructions you give him.

Start with objects in your environment!

I use a big box, two miniature tables and two boy figurines for the first steps. This is just an example. You can use two real chairs and two stuffed animal toys, then, all you have to do is take photos while following the specific steps in this program. Later steps will need a variety of objects that you will easily have in your environment. The last pictures will be just examples, provided for you inside the program once you subscribe.
